On a Late Friday evening (Friday, August 25, 2023), three current board members (who are also running for re-election: Trainor, Sexton & Montani) along with the previous Chartiers Valley administration called a special meeting of the Chartiers Valley School Board. Their goal was to push through on a Friday evening at 6:30 p.m., their agenda, a construction change order totaling $137,382.00. As stated during the board meeting, this action/approval was against the advice of the architect.

The change order removed the base binding material (gravel) and placed it in the student parking lot while using the gravel again to asphalt the track which was previously removed. Yes, Taxpayers paid to have the CV Stadium Track ripped up, and then redone with the same material at a cost of $137,382.00!

This abuse of Taxpayer money was totally unnecessary and a waste. Furthermore, 16 change orders were presented by the administration, all which were voted down which ultimately led to the Superintendent leaving for another position outside Allegheny county. These 3 board members supported this waste, but more importantly, these 16 change orders were NOT approved by the board of school directors, however were completed without the Board's authorization. These 3 board members defended the administration till the bitter end. Now we know why! No wonder the Superintendent fled -- so should of these 3 board members!

In late summer of 2024, the entire track was remediated to fix all these issues with the Board declaring an emergency for the stadium project (obviously, given all the issues surrounding the non approval of change orders by the previous Administration). Supposely the track and stadium project will be finished in the summer of 2025. Taxpayers will believe it when they see it!

When is the gym, pool entrance, and concession stand area getting renovated that was promised? Maybe it should be halted!? Hopefully these 3 board members do not influence any future projects like they did the stadium and screw CV up any further! Vote them out so they cannot benefit or influence any future Chartiers Valley projects!
