The Pittsburgh Business Times tracks school district rankings. The performance of Chartiers Valley teachers within the classroom has been either flat or declining for the past 10 years, while salaries have soared! Where is the accountability? Taxpayers have been getting fleeced! Chartiers Valley has been at bottom for the past 10+ years however Taxpayers continue to pay Chartiers Valley teachers one of the highest base salaries in Western, PA!

Academic Achievement is Appalling!

While teaching is a noble profession, a Chartiers Valley teacher's job is to educate our students. That has not occured. Our rankings have declined (#52) and the entitlements have increased all to the detriment to our community. View PDF of 2024/2025 Teacher salaries The highest paid teacher in total compensation is $221,274.98/year for 190 days of work!

During a budget presentation in January 2025, the data presented was that 176 out of 254 teachers were on Step 18 (69%) with an average total compensation package of $193,406.00 per year! This is more than double or triple the wages of our community members.

As teacher salaries soared, the performance of our students has declined.

CV Taxpayer Campaign

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results. That is exactly what some board members wish to accomplish. They support the failed policies that have plaqued Chartiers Valley for years!

The data is clear, the previous Administration & three current board members support the employees more than taxpayers within Chartiers Valley School District. Salaries soared while our children suffered. The time has come to hold those accountable.

Educational Policy - Fiscal Cliff

School board educational policies cover a broad range of topics, from academic standards and student conduct to attendance, discipline, and curriculum, all while ensuring compliance with state and federal laws.

Supporting the current administration to fix the fiscal cliff that was discovered ($39 million dollars was wasted); along with the previous administration approving stadium project change orders without board approval has created a fiscal mess.

The board should scrutinize the previous administration and hold those accountable. CV Taxpayers should demand accountability!

CV Taxpayers should protect our Seniors and not have to endure School Board Members raising their taxes yearly (Lisa Trainor, Megan Sexton & Mitch Montani), with no accountability creating a cash cow for their friends and supporting failed ideals.

Seniors have a voice! Two teachers on the board push their radical agenda that hurt seniors while another one votes with them. Time for them to GO!

The current leadership within Collier Township is a failure! They refused to support our Fire and EMS. Instead they have spend thousands on planning and proposing to build a $6+M softball and baseball field at Nike site.

If Collier Township would have listened to the CV Athletic Director they wouldn't be wasting our money on fields! They sacrifice Safety at our expense! Lets fully fund and support our Fire & EMS; buy them the necessary equipment to keep the community safe, not waste our money on a commissioners' pet project at Nike Site!

Declining Test Scores

The Chartiers Valley School District test scores are depressing. Year after year, student test scores have been flat and are currently declining while three current board members defend the employees performance.

Our poor perfomance is in need of a heavy dose of accountability. Its shocking but sadly not surpising, that one board member (Lisa Trainor), who was previously a teacher within Chartiers Valley supports the failing outcomes of our students and does not represent the 30,000+ taxpayers but her self interests. Its time for her to GO!

3 current school board members (Trainor, Sexton & Montani) are trying to get re-elected & one of their friends (Mark Fiorilli) but they have VOTED to raised your taxes every year they have been on the board! SPENDING more MONEY does not equate to higher test scores - Our history shows that!

In 2022 Chartiers Valley's mileage was raised to 19.3957 which was 3.4%. In 2023, the mileage increased again to 20.1909 or 4.1%. And again, in 2024, the three current candidates (Lisa Trainor, Megan Sexton & Mitch Montani) voted against keeping taxes low, only to support a tax raise 3 years in a row!

In March of 2024, the Collier Board President changed the meeting time from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. to accommodate pushing through an agenda which residents do not support.Commissioners thought no one would notice. WE DID! There goal was to prevent transparency and push through building fields without feedback from the community nor full, public debate. It also calls into questions other motives of this board.Time for Change! Vote them OUT!
